James W Taylor, NMLS # 659260, established First Nations Home Mortgage, NMLS# 845794 in 1998 in order to provide a better mortgage experience for the citizens of South Carolina. He has helped hundreds of South Carolina citizens purchase or refinance their homes, many of whom are repeat customers.
Serving with integrity is at the core of every loan he originates. His business conduct reflects the belief that one’s integrity can never be taken, it can only be given away.
Jim was born and raised in Greenville, SC. and graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He is the only licensed mortgage professional in SC that has achieved both the Certified Mortgage Consultant (CMC) and the Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist (CMPS) designations.
Jim is the proud father of local attorney, Lauren Taylor and an active member of Buncombe Street United Methodist Church. He was blessed to have two loving parents, married for over 60 years, and three amazing sisters. While working in various fields of engineering, he has lived in Denver, Atlanta, San Francisco and New Orleans before returning to Greenville in 1994.
Jim also takes pride in the fact that he has been providing advice about Reverse Mortgages to seniors since 2002. He began when his mother asked him if it would be right for them and why there was no one locally providing these loans. He thoroughly researched the HUD Reverse Mortgage program to learn the details.
While he did not feel it was the right thing for his parents to do at the time, he did understand that this program could be a blessing for many seniors in financial distress. He believes that in recent years this loan product has been oversold and seniors should carefully evaluate all of their options before proceeding with a reverse mortgage.
Jim loves what he does – advising people through the confusing process of mortgage planning. With his extensive knowledge of home mortgage products, he takes the time to listen to his clients and advise them on the best path for their individual circumstances. He considers himself fortunate to have had the opportunity to help so many people achieve the dream of owning their own home.
Call Jim today and prepare to be amazed what First Nations Home Mortgage can do for you!
